Hi there,
I’m Toby Xue, a Designer and Visual Artist, also known by my creative signature, 'acoi—a symbolic identity I use for my public artworks.
With many years of experience across diverse industries, I’ve worked with digital animation companies, advertising/brand experience agencies, and fashion design companies in Beijing and Shanghai. Throughout my career, I’ve led design project pitches, overseen executions, and created art installations across China. Over time, I noticed a significant shift toward interactivity in design, which inspired me to pause, reflect, and deepen my expertise. After completing my MFA degree in Visual Communication Design at the RIT in the United States, I spent time volunteering to broaden my perspective and freelancer. Now based in Toronto, Canada, I’m excited to embrace new challenges and opportunities in this vibrant creative landscape.
I firmly believe that the future of design lies in diversity and the intersection of interactivity. Interactive design is more than a trend—it’s the foundation of what’s to come. As designers, we must prioritize user experience, which extends far beyond product functionality. Visual storytelling, sensory engagement, and emotional connections are equally vital and represent untapped potential in shaping the future of design.
